Paul M. Clemens

Author of: Double Your Pleasure

Born in Chicago in 1944, Paul M. Clemens entered Holy Cross Seminary at the University of Notre Dame at the age of thirteen to become a Catholic priest—leaving after seven years of Greek, Latin, Philosophy and Theology, including a novitiate year in silence. He holds BA and MA degrees from Indiana University in Philosophy and Creative Writing.

Educated in comparative literature, Mr. Clemens taught English at Hunter College in New York City, worked in bookstores, proofread dime novels for Pocket Books, saw 300 foreign films, and wrote three unpublished novels ala James Joyce. In 1970 he moved to California, where he worked at the Hoover Institute, Stanford University; as an editor/proofreader for the University of California Press at Berkeley; as a writer for a high school textbook on world mythology; and for four years worked closely with a Tibetan lama ghostwriting fifteen books on Eastern psychology and spiritual traditions, while managing a college textbook printing company and producing a quarterly magazine.

In 1972, Mr. Clemens became the technical editor for the prestigious Journal of Transpersonal Psychology, a position he held for 29 years while producing 58 volumes of professional literature. Paul has also taught English literature at College of Notre Dame, Belmont, California, Foothill College, and DeAnza College, in the San Francisco Bay area.

In 1975 Paul met his future wife, Nancy (with her ready-made family of three children), and moved to a small 1880s farmhouse in Nevada City, California (elevation 3,000 ft. on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains leading to Lake Tahoe) where they had two more children.

In 1976 Paul began Blue Dolphin Press, a commercial printing company with 14 employees as a first step in eventually publishing books which would focus on helping people grow in their spiritual and social awareness.

In 1985, Paul began publishing books on human growth and potential ... relationships, self-help, health and healing, and whatever contributes to living a more conscious and aware life. To date, Blue Dolphin Publishing has birthed nearly 300 books on effective tools for living.

Paul is a charismatic speaker who works with the basic principles of positive self-esteem and creative inner talk to help people clear their energy and become more conscious and productive, both to themselves and to others. He draws on many years’ experience with the teachers and “psychologies” of multiple cultures to create an informative and enlightening experience.
